The rain was relentless Saturday morning. Many reporting stations around the metro picked up 1-3 inches of rain. Our trails were still trying to recovery early this week.
Blame rising humidity and lack of wind for the slow drying. More heat and humidity is on the way early this week. Tuesday and Wednesday could be some of the hottest days of the summer with highs in the low 90s and dewpoints in the low 70s. Whenever that dewpoint rises above 70° that air can feel heavy and sticky. The sizzle breaks late this week as severe thunderstorms signify a passing cold front.
